Summer School Program

Do you have what it takes to be successful in online summer school? Summer school is a great opportunity for students to make gains in their academic goals, but it is not for everyone. To be successful in summer school, students must be willing and able to apply between 3-4 hours a day in order to complete a full course. This requires the student to demonstrate self-discipline and dedication. Other skills needed to be successful in an online course include:

• Time Management Skills - Are you able to manage your time effectively? Can you plan and follow a study schedule independently? 

• Be Communicative – Do you have good communication skills? Are you able to contact teachers when you need support and explain your needs clearly?

• Independent Endeavor – Are you able to work independently? 

• Be Independently Motivated – Are you interested in learning new skills and knowledge? Have you set educational goals for yourself as a learner?

• Academic Readiness – Do you have an interest in the course subject area?  

• Technological proficiency - Do you have the technology skills needed to be successful in online learning platforms

• Registration Fee - $100 (non-refundable)

• Full-year Course Tuition (10 Credits) - $1200

• Half-year Course Tuition (5 Credits) - $600 

• Credit Recovery Units - $150 per unit

Due to the shortened summer school program, there will be no refunds after the commencement date on 19 June. If a student decides to withdraw prior to the commencement date, the tuition will be refunded less the non-refundable registration fee. Any withdrawals on or after 19 June will not receive a refund. 

For students completing credit recovery units, all units must be completed to a Mastery level by 31 July 2023 in order for the grades to appear on the 2022-2023 school year transcript. For students completing a half-year course, all units must be completed to a Mastery level by 31 July 2023 in order for the grades to appear on the 2022-2023 school year transcript. For students completing a full-year course, grades will be added to the 2023-2024 transcript. 

All grades will be accessible on the student's QSI transcript by 1 September 2023. 

Below are the expectations for summer school students:

• Students are expected to have consulted their school counselor and/or administrator regarding their summer school course selection.

• Students are expected to have completed all necessary prerequisites for their course.

• Students are expected to dedicate 3-4 hours per day to coursework

• Students are expected to complete one unit per week to stay on pace in the course. 

• Students are expected to communicate proactively with their online instructor.

• If a student will be away from their course for an extended period (holiday, sickness, etc...) they are expected to communicate this with their instructor.

• 15 June - Summer School Registration Ends
• 18 June - All Tuition and Fees Due
• 19 June - Summer School Week One Begins
• 26 June - Summer School Week Two Begins
• 3 July - Summer School Week Three Begins
• 10 July - Summer School Week Four Begins
• 17 July - Summer School Week Five Begins (Mid-Term Narrative Reports Sent Home)
• 24 July - Summer School Week Six Begins
• 31 July - Summer School Week Seven Begins-Last Day for Grades to be Added to 22-23 Transcript
• 7 August - Summer School Week Eight Begins 
• 14 August - Summer School Week Nine Begins
• 21 August - Summer School Week Ten Begins 
• 25 August - Final Day for Submission of Work - Summer School Ends
• 1 September - All Grades will Appear on QSI Transcripts
