Child Safeguarding

The staff and leadership of QSI Virtual School are committed to ensuring a safe virtual learning environment for our students.

At QSI Virtual School, the safety and wellbeing of every child is a top priority. We are committed to providing a school environment where students feel safe, respected, supported, and able to learn and grow. Our child safeguarding and protection practices are designed to prevent harm, respond appropriately to concerns, and promote a culture of care, accountability, and respect across the entire school community.

Our approach is guided by QSI policy, host country legal requirements, and internationally recognized child protection principles. We believe every child has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment, and we expect all adults in the school community to act in the best interests of children at all times.

Our Commitment

  • Maintain a school culture that promotes safety, dignity, inclusion, and respect for all students.

  • Implement clear child safeguarding and protection procedures for prevention, reporting, and response.

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to concerns or reports of abuse, neglect, bullying, exploitation, or other forms of harm.

  • Provide regular training for staff and education for students and families.

  • Use safe recruitment, screening, and hiring practices for adults who work with children.

  • Work in partnership with families, local authorities, and relevant support services when needed.

It is imperative that children are provided with a safe and secure environment in which to develop, thrive, and be successful, regardless of ethnic origins, religious beliefs, or cultural heritage.

Child Protection Statement

Quality Schools International promotes the importance of applying the QSI Success Orientations as part of its Child Safety and Protection policy and procedures throughout the QSI communities at large. Abuse and neglect of minors are not only violations of children’s basic human rights, but also constitute impediments to learning and development, and adversely affect children’s physical, emotional, and social well-being. It is imperative that children are provided with a safe and secure environment in which to develop, thrive, and be successful, regardless of ethnic origins, religious beliefs, or cultural heritage. As such, it is expected that all QSI schools develop a comprehensive child safety and protection plan.

Online Safety Statement

As an online school, technology and the use of the Internet are essential parts of learning and teaching at QSI Virtual School. One of our top priorities is ensuring the safe and responsible use of the Internet and digital communication technologies by QVS students. QVS is committed to educating our students about the benefits and risks of using technology, and we strive to provide safeguards and awareness for students to empower them to control and monitor their online experiences. We support our students in learning how to interact online safely, as well as how to report unwanted online behaviors and the misuse of school platforms.

How We Support Student Safety

Our child safeguarding and protection program includes prevention, education, training, and response procedures designed to protect students and support their wellbeing. Key elements of our program include:

  • Age-appropriate student learning about personal safety, boundaries, trusted adults, and self-advocacy through the Empower curriculum and related classroom lessons.

  • Annual child safeguarding and protection training for staff, volunteers, coaches, and other adults who work with students.

  • A school-based Child Protection Team that helps implement procedures and respond to concerns.

  • Clear expectations for professional conduct through the school’s Code of Conduct.

  • Guidance for trips, events, student travel, online learning, and other school-related activities.

  • Careful attention to confidentiality, student dignity, and appropriate communication when concerns arise.

Partnership with Families

We believe safeguarding is most effective when schools and families work together. We provide information and training opportunities for parents and caregivers, share age-appropriate safety education with students, and encourage open communication when concerns arise. Our goal is to create a preventative, educational, and supportive approach that helps every child feel safe and known.

Reporting Concerns

All concerns related to student safety and wellbeing are taken seriously. Reports of suspected abuse, neglect, or other safeguarding concerns are addressed in accordance with school policy and local legal requirements. If you have a concern or would like more information about the school’s child safeguarding and protection practices, please contact the school office or the designated Child Protection Lead.
